Sorry guys for over-posting. Glad to be here.

Any referrals for a Southern California mechanic? I need everything from door locks to engine work (and everything in between).

This just rolled off the truck from Detroit last night (for my birthday).

Welcome.
So where in SOCAL??
Kinda a big place that SOCAL thing ya know?

As Tim mentioned, you really need to be ready to get some dirt under your finger nails owning one of these old Jeeps.
Most mechanics unfortunately know nothing about Full Size Jeeps, not to mention a carburator scares the livin life outta them.

There a lot of good folks around here that will help with info, guidance, and maybe even parts.

San Diego specifically, but I am not scared to drive to LA, riverside, etc. SoCal is a big place, but I'm willing to drive to find the right shop.

Happy Birthday from SF!
Have tools, will travel... may be not to SoCal... we are Norcal, we don't know where SoCal is... let us know what the issues are!

Where in SD? I'm in North Park. So far I've tried to tackle things on my own and I know a couple places with "old school" mechanics who know a thing or 2.

https://www.shiftautowerx.com/ might be a good resource. I know the Trail Recon youtube has used them for a couple of his projects. Close to you too.

depending on your mechanic skills , it is best to learn your rig and do things on your own there is a lot of help here and tons of old threads on just about everything FSJ, unless unless your bank account is just a tad short of fort knox, as stated old school guys are hard to find and good ones even harder to find i dont know what shop rates are in s.d but in phx they start at 100.00 per hr, and can add up quickly , i spent 4.5 years on minion hauler, and figure in into it with about 1000-1200 hours, my fuel injection / ign . system ( sniper/hyperspark took 40+ hours alone, but get a factory manual, and ask for help here your family now. part of the coolest trucks ever built. :fsj: :fsj: :fsj: :fsj: :fsj: :fsj: :fsj: :fsj:
