will the sliders for a cherokee fit a J truck?

Post by mike472 »

I'm currently building a 72 J4000, I was wondering if the rock sliders/steps from a cherokee would bolt on? I believe Rocky Road Outfitters makes a set for the cherokee but they cannot tell me if they fit a truck, anyone have a clue?

No, the frames are different from under the door back. The J-Truck frame gets a lot wider. Also, a Cherokee/Wagoneer rock rail will be too short as even a short bed J-Truck has a longer wheelbase.

But outside of the length issue, they could be modified to fit a J-Truck. The mounts will have to be cut shorter for the wider frame.
