'64 J 200 frame up resto

Post by Irishjeeper »

Well, I'm committed now. Bought a running 1964 J 200 only 3 miles from me just sitting next to a barn. Parked it because it wanted to jump out of 3rd gear once in awhile, and the owner just bought another daily driver. I cam along and saved it from one day away being hauled to the scrap yard. Got it for $800 which is more than scrap price, but i wanted it. That same day bought a '57 Chevy 4 door for $500.00. (next project)

I have everything stripped down to the frame, and am getting it blasted and POR 15'd. Cab, doors and goodies are going to my body/paint guy. Working on getting a 4.2L rebuilt and putting it in. Changing the 3 on the tree to a TH350 and bolting that to the dana 20 t/c. Going to update the parts and drums on the factory Dana 44's and just keep it original and clean. Going to be a putt putt around vehicle and my 15 yr old daughter will drive to school. No off roading and just cruise and put in a local car show once in a while.

Here is the pic link and will keep adding and updating. Thanks. :D
