Hi-lift Jack mount ideas needed

Post by haminawag »

Anyone know a way to securely mount a hi-lift jack to this type of bumper? This is basically my setup on my Wagoneer, but the jack works itself loose gradually. Any ideas are appreciated.

Never had issues with my wing nuts. I also wrap a bungie around the handle.

Vertical pc of angle or flatbar like pictured w/ a (3" long +-) pc of 1/2" round welded on sticking out toward the front. Sandwich jack between pieces of rubber. Drill hole for padlock in one or both to keep it all tight and secure. Cotter pin if you don't want padlock. Round here jack would disappear if it wasn't locked. :x

Quadratec sells a unit for hood mounting a Highlift over the hinges of a wranglers hood. i used the kit on my wrangler and its very secure, doesn't bounce or shake loose. i used the same kit with some light modifications to mount my highlift in the bed of my j20. im sure you could do the same to mount to the bumper, really all i had to do was drill 2 extra holes in the bottom plate so i didn't have to drill my bed. it works great and its really easy to get your highlift off of, which is a plus when your somewhere you don't want to spend too much time standing around. plus they sell an attachment that you can run 5 lights underneath the bracket...maybe add some extra trail lights to the bumper!
