That's exactly where I mounted mine. Yeah, E2000, same one. I just contorted myself over the right fender and fed it through, but most of the work is inside.

Re-mounted the fuel pump. After closer examination it is an E2000! I have to head to the hardware store to get a longer bolt so right now it is just held in place with a zip tie and that copper tubing. (It's actually a gun barrel from my other hobby...)

I recommend you move it outside the frame rail or to the other frame rail or at least make a heat shield.
It's very hard to get vapor lock with EFI but if you try hard enough...it will.
Going to fabricate a heat shield. I didn't want it outside the frame to protect it when driving off road. There was a fuel metering device (maybe?) that had wires going to it, I tapped into the hard line coming out of it. If that wasn't there I could have fit it right on the cross member. It's hard to see but the filter is tucked over the cross member itself and I didn't want to have unfiltered gas going into the pump, especially coming out of an old tank.
Thanks everybody for the help so far!

Be sure to wrap the exhaust-side of the shield with something that radiates heat, like a silver coating for intake pipes on import cars. I also have a filter right before the pump. I used a glass one, that I can take apart and clean the filter up really easily. Just be sure to check your filter every now and then.

Got the throttle body installed on the mounting plate finally and routed the fuel lines. Tested for WOT and its about 80% open with the foot to the floor so I'll have to make a little plate for the throttle cable attachment. Not a huge deal at the moment. Got the hole 90% drilled for the bung before the drill died. Lame. Guess that serves me right for not charging batteries. Again! doh! Going to start wiring tomorrow if the weather stays nice.

These glass filters are only good for rocks and chunks, they will let the fine particles through and they will clog the injectors. I use a standard Fram clear paper filter (3/8s nipples) before the pump and have not had a problem since.
I use the glass ones before the paper one to catch the larger rust flakes coming out of my tank.
Started wiring! Cut a good sized hole in the firewall just under the heater box to feed the cables through. The harness is for a chevy pickup, so it isn't trimmed to match and fit very well. I had to extend the line for the temp sensor. Not a big deal. I think chevy must put the 02 sensor on the passenger side as the connection was pretty short. Fortunately with some adjusting I was also able to make this work since I had already drilled the hole for the sensor in the driver's side manifold. I havet o mount the MAP sensor somewhere on the firewall, probably zip tied to something for now to get it running. Tomorrow my buddy is coming over with the welder to weld the bung in. Once that is complete all I am down to is wiring, of which there is quite a bit to do. Pictures!

And I'll be ordering another manifold since I drilled a sweet hole in it, thereby ruining it, despite the instructions in this particular kit saying to do just that.

Try to run ALL the sensor grounds to ONE point, wherever it is. Also, try to mount the MAP sensor as close to a vacuum source as possible. Mine is pretty far away, and Blake and I had a conversation if that was cool or not. I'm using the '94 Chev fitting for it, but I also don't get any MAP numbers over 85 either. Moving mine closer is a get-it-done-soon thing.
Also, if you can't solder real well (like me!), use high quality, heat-shrinkable butt connectors (don't skimp here!). I'm a VW/Audi tech so I just used the ones VW recommends for wiring repair. The hold real well and when you heat them up the shrink down and let a sealant/glue out that makes it weather tight.

Soldering is actually one thing I am good at Was looking at grounding to the driver's side fender since there are already a couple holes in it. Too far from stuff, or ok?

It may help to review the FAQs on the binderplanet. It covers all the little things.

This is the reason you only get 85map.
Start winaldl and turn the key on and see what the map reads with the engine off, key on.
That is the highest you can possibly get.
Or check you local weather for your barometric pressure.
The bottom of the aircleaner is a good location for the map sensor!
The tip is pointed down and the is still above the vacuum port.
Put on the new bumper today so no TBI work. Also ordered the replacement manifold so may hold off on further work until I can get it swapped in. Might try some wiring over the weekend though. Do I need to hook up the VSS to anything? TH400 and best as I can tell, no wires coming off of it. No trans control or timing control from the ECU.

If there aren't any wires coming off the VSS than it's just the speedo cable, I believe? Halfway up the cable if you have wires that's for cruise control. I added a VSS from JTR because the PCM I used had speed sensor inputs. Even if you don't have trans or timing
control it could still be VSS compatible.
I may also be entirely typing out of my own a** too. Ethan or Bill, care to overrule me?
Edit: New bumper?! Pictures or it didn't happen!

I put pics up over in the offroad tech section in the non-factory bumper thread. Now I have the joy of properly aligning it with a mallet and such.
VSS can take the signal from the speedo cable (maybe?) and do I really need the P/N switch thingy (a technical term), if so where is a good place to ground near the ignition block inside?

If you're using the VSS input to the ECU you're using, then I don't think it can use the Jeep VSS. You'll need an aftermarket one that matches up. Not sure about your model year.
I haven't done anything with my P/N for the PCM. I just made sure the datalog always reads 'Drive'.
