Im just starting to collect parts to put a throttle body injection on my waggy to get the irritating edelbrock carb off. I'm wondering if anybody is controlling timing through an msd pro-billet distributor? Thanks, Mike

If it has the same pickup as the stock distributor, then YES, you can do timing control. You'll have to lock out the mechanical advance and leave the vacuum advance disabled.
there is a certain model msd that has a module inside the dizzy. those won't work unless you somehow remove the msd module and run straight off the pickup.
What wires does it connect to on the MSD 6? That will help you figure out if it will work or not. Download the MSD wiring diagram. If they go to the same wires that the Ford Duraspark distributor goes to, then it will probably work.
When using timing control, you hook up the stock distributor pickup to the 7 pin ignition module. If the MSD distributor behaves as a stock module, it will be properly triggered.
As mentioned earlier, I'd just use the stock distributor unless you already have an MSD laying around and you really like red distributors. ;- )
8519 is similar to Duraspark w/ 2 pickup wires.
Same wiring model as Duraspark.
8523 is the one w/ built in module.
This one outputs a 12v tach signal.
5v tach signal is what ecm is expecting. There are tach adapters available to modify the signal.
While nice I don't think they're worth the $.
People out there making modified Durasparks that combine the stock GM ignition parts for less.
