'79 Chief aka The Molotov

Post by Bulldog67 »

First post and all that so seemed to make sense to intro one of the trucks at the same time:

Work done so far (some kinda pointless but its the 'declared' list for the insurers):

6-7” SOA Suspension lift complete with hi-steer (ie flat top knuckles, caster realignment etc)
Heavy duty springs (new bushes front and rear)
Rough Country 6” extended shock
Rough Country steering damper
Warn winch
Heavy duty battery
Off road Phatchopperrod front winch bumper
Off road Phatchopperrod rear off road bumper
Front & rear replacement leather bench seats (rear MG ZR & front Dulvo T5)
3 x 3 point rear harnesses
CB & Stinger aerial
Upgraded CD player
35” BFG Muds x5
15x10 Black Steel wheels
Blood Red off road 30 & 40mm billet spacers
TJ Xenon 7” ‘unbreakable’ Flares (Front & Rear)
Razor Grill
Wire mesh radiator protection
Replacement (now original) indicator lenses F&R
HID headlight set up
Adjure 7” ‘ice skull’ headlights
Wire mesh headlight guards
Full front to back rewire
Cat 2 immobiliser
2 separate battery isolation switches (one key operated, one hidden)
Front axle rebuild
Front brake part rebuild
Brake hydroboost system
Quick release steering hub and new steering wheel
Edelbrock performance manifold
670 Truck Avenger Carb
HEI Distributor
Hedman headers
Front to back replacement exhaust system
New fuel tank and fuel lines
K&N air filter
Replacement side window
Re-gear at 4.88 and a rear lockrite locker

Went wheeling for the weekend after the regear was finished and managed about 400 yards and had a small electrical fire, trail fix and then another 400 yards and entered a 'bomb hole' and had a tyre ripped off the rim, dragged it out (thick mud) and also discovered the top leaf at a right angle, so that was the end of the weekend. Two years build to get to that point and Im not putting down on 'paper' how much cash has been spent in case Mrs BD happens to see. So new springs to be fitted and a traction bar to be fabricated.

Hope that serves as an intro 8-)

Not forgettin I live in England so Im considered either an oddball with an odd taste in Jeeps coz the FSJ is v v few and far between, or a menace to society (that would be my idiot neighbour).

I have a few Jeeps (see my sig), so more pics etc here: http://www.birtydastards.com/frm/index. ... ic=20288.0

Lookin forward to picking ya brains coz Im a first class tech numpty 8-x

Cheers

Molotov....I like it. Kinda punk-rock, anarchist-like. Now the Chief needs a orange mohawk.
