They have a set of 70's oval slot wheels for $1,600!!!!!NoLaFSJ wrote:It looks like they do very nice work. I bet it costs more than I'm willing to pay haha
I think if you sent them individually with foam protecting the flat surfaces they would be OK. I'm no where near ready to have them done yet. But unfortunately, prices aren't going to ever go down, either.adzam wrote:Detroit vintage is not that expensive if you send your own wheels. I called them awhile back and can't remember what they told me, but I thought it was fairly reasonable. Shipping would kill you though.

I bought the center caps back when the stealerships still had them available from a discount house helping them get rid of slow sales parts.FSJ Guy wrote:Those look NICE!! It looks like they're up to $175 each. Darned inflation! LOL!
There is a restorer here in Denver. I will see what their charge is. The price difference for the "exchange" price isn't worth the shipping price to return the old ones. Maybe a local restorer will be more economical.
EDIT:
Did they restore your center caps, too???
Looks great. I bought a wheel for $20 off someone to try my hand at a refinish. This might of inspired me to try it out.BCRAWLER wrote:Here are pictures as promised. Started with 80 grit then used 120 grit paper. Wish i gone to 220 grit as some of the sander marks still show. Repainted the black with rattle can then covered with 2 coats of clear. looks good till you get a foot or so away. Cost was under $30. Fine for a DD but if your building a pretty truck professional I think is the way to go.Would not even want to think refinishing where I painted mine black. Good luck on this.
