'88 Overland Build

Post by hoksibish »

Excited to start the build of our 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer!
We have replaced the stock intake with an Edelbrock preformer topped with an Edelbrock 1406 carburetor. The carb has been rebuilt with all new parts including off-road needles to help on the steep inclines. A basic tune up and battery are next.
Also picked up a parts wagoneer at the time of purchase just in case.

Welcome to the madness, your parts rig looks much better than my GW when I bought it. Looks like you need to save one then build the other :D

Actually the white one is complete. I was told the top half had been rebuilt then it sat. Since that the intake was robbed and a couple other things. But all in all it is all there. I would sell it if someone was interested.

As for the end goal, I want to lift, wheels and tires, a roof rack and all the typical recovery points and winch. It will be used as our overland rig.

So today the waggy got new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and battery. The ole pig fires right up and runs smooth. Trouble is now , when its put into gear and the gas is applied it stalls out and dies. Looking for ideas... I am leaning towards vacuum leak at this point.
