Haven't got much progress on it due to weather but just felt id share my new project with you guys, much to come everything from Axles to drive train and just about everything else! Will do my best to keep you all updated on my progress, and any updates/etc. But here's a picture of the dirty girl lol.
Welcome! More pics are in order to complete your membership application!
Not really. You have the right grill for a truck, all the parts look good, lot
of jealousy here over the intact turn signal outer lenses, nice!
It's mostly complete minus the tailgate and a seat, floors seem to be missing too if you catch my drift lol. All the bolt ons are there but she has some bad rust, on the roof sides along the drip edges has me most worried since I'm not the most skilled at body work, but it's a start lol
Lancaster PA, lol i don't think I'm going to be that lucky. Don't mind the body work to be honest that'll be the fun part haha. Just worried what other surprises i might find once the head liner is taken out lol
Welcome !
Nice early two-tones Gladiator with the side reflectors
I am interested by the VIN and the production date for the record, if you still have the yellow sticker with these infos on the door jamb driver side
J10 81, J10 77, CJ7 80, Gladiator 64, Wagoneer 65, ZJ 5.9
parts vehicles : wagoneer 63, cherokee Golden eagle
Nice looking J truck you got there! I always thought those front side marker reflectors were lights, like on the slightly later trucks. Are they really reflectors and not lights? I love the design of those things.
73 J4000. 360, MC 2100, T18A, D20, stock closed knuckle Dana 44 front, 60-2 rear. Warn Lock-O-Matics, Warn/Belleview electric winch, true duals with glasspacks, old-school front diff skid plate, used 265 Toyos on 16" AR wheels.
I bet your truck is an early 70 with a 69 build date. Reflectors were a 69 thing. Side marker lights were first required in 68, reflectors (but no lights) in 69, and light + reflector 70 and up. The law changed a couple times until the auto manufacturers got mad and told congress to make up their minds, pass a final law and stick to it.
I agree , these reflectors are a 1969 thing, beginning in January 69 for safety reasons and ending in december 69-january 70 when the rhino grille was replaced by the razor. The two-tone option was introduced in the fall of 1969 so your rig is one of the first two-tone trucks
