BTW you can see the same data with a bluetooth OBDII adapter with the Torque app on your phone. The adapter is like 10 bucks on ebay and the app is 5 bucks.

I'll be towing my GN to the dunes tonight and I'll look and see what my oil temps are. I'm not sure, but 216 doesn't sound too bad.

Another thing to consider is getting one of those universal oil coolers. I have one on my '75 GMC tow rig with the 8.1 vortec. Cheap and easy to install and it comes with a bunch of adapters for connecting to various engine blocks.

216 isn't bad but it wasn't hot outside and it wasn't under load. With the 6.0 diesel like we have you want to generally have no more than 15 degrees difference between the coolant and oil temps except for briefly. A 30 degree difference under the conditions this morning isn't a great sign. The scangauge is pretty cool it monitors a bunch of stuff and has some other features too. If I had known about the cheaper option I might have gone that route instead though! Have fun this weekend- not too much fun though!

For the DIY FI guys going to Ouray. I'll have my Auto Prom with me. Anybody else good with these? I've done everything I can think of doing (read every how to) and can't get it to talk to the car.

Bryan is generally good with that sort of thing but not sure if he will be able to figure it out or not but my money is on yes, he can.

If your having issues with your autoprom, I can help. You have to get all the switches in the correct order and you have to have it physically wired correct on the ALDL connection.

I'm not familiar with the system. Given time I could probably figure it out but then again you could, too! I figured Blake would post up since that's what he runs.

It's something weird. I'm on the phone with Moates and they've remotely controlled my PC and they're stumped.

make sure the ALDL has a good ground. Other than that, it only requires two other wires.

also try another USB cable. I've had them go bad and it's NOT obvious...

I'll check the ground, all of my grounds tie into each other then to the bolt on the block that the negative cable attaches to. Pretty much just copied what they did with my PFI kit.

Moates seems to think the autoprom itself is bad.

I'm talking about the ground for the ALDL cable itself.

On the vehicle side, right(not on the autoprom cable)? Definitely grounded. In theory if the ground is bad the aldl jumper shouldn't work, correct?

Getting an on/off again code 45. Wonder if it would be safe to drive it as-is and tune after getting there.

Now the real question is... Do I try and reserve site 44 or 45?

has anybody brought their dog in their jeeps out on the Ouray trails? If so, did the bouncing over the rocks make them sick? I have a 19week old mini schnauzer that'll be coming with us and am concerned of how he'll 'take it'. I have to bring him, no one to leave him with.
thanks

ps I came here last year but obviously didn't have a pup with

Just got off the phone with KOA and they are booked solid! If you don't have a reservation by now, you need to hook up with someone that's cancelling!

Reminder that their policy is max 4 people, two dogs, and two vehicles per site!

I am surprised at the lack of cancellations this year. It looks like we will have a good turnout.

I wonder if we should start a 'cancel/looking for a spot' thread?

I searched the web site, no tent spots available but there is a RV 'pull through' site showing up as available.
