got all the fluids done. During my usual inspecting, I found that the right rear bearing was going, so last minute swap was just done. I usually get about 18 months out of that bearing, so two years wasn't too bad....about 25k miles. The new second fuel tank seems to be working properly, so I guess the GW is about ready

Do not even be mentioning rear axle bearings around me.

New J20 gear is drilled and tapped for hydro assist, NPT fittings installed and the assembly is ready to bolt on. I'll have a spare steering gear this year for when my (or someone elses) sector shaft decides to snap. New heims are on the way and so that means I'll have pretty much all new steering.

I'm just hoping the clutch can make another HWY trip. It's bad, real bad. The clutch stuck to the pressure plate/flywheel last year after I drove it straight from Ouray to Longmont due to all the heat...

Extra stamp on the man card! I have to drive just 500 miles each direction and I was thinking of splitting it in two!

just found out that my ram is bad. I think it was the cause of my power steering pump failure.

I have the new j20 gear tapped for the ram and plugged. It's just not enough power to turn the 42's.

I may not be able to make it this year as a result. I need power steering badly...

BUT... The one crispy wire and a bunch of little mechanical problems sound a hecuva lot easier to fix than the fuel starvation in the 74. Spent all day on it and was rewarded with a very very slight improvement.

What all can I do without the skid plate? Alta lakes?
Fire?! Pffft. I lit my engine bay on fire before the first invasion and still made it! :D .... course I had a fire extinguisher out fast and avoided any major issues.

Seriously tho, sorry to hear. But better a known reliable rig I say. (btw last year I think I burned at most a half tank a day for trail runs. I get maybe 11-12mpg city, 13-14 hwy, and 4-7mpg trail 8-O)

So probably everyone knows that Frank has stickers on the way to KOA, t-shirts are ordered (thanks Beth-Ann). And Scott and I just finished buying a ton of raffle prizes from Harbor Freight donated by CFSJA. More on that later.

I'll see everyone late Wednesday or Thursday morning. Can't wait!

I can take a look. You have the booster socket, right? I will try to bring my gear to help with testing...

Also, on another topic...

I couldn't convince the family to join me so I have some seats free for trail runs Thu, Fri, and maybe Sat am.

Got the rig loaded on the trailer and took it for a test run. No problems going 65.

Shimnoik, I have a couple of raffle prizes to donate as well.

Holy cow! It's 1000 miles from our house to Ouray. The one time we tried to drive straight through in 2010 we made it to Salida and hooked up with Jason, Pam and Allen and Greg and Joann and stayed the night there. We were completely brain-dead and sleep deprived. But we were also towing for the first time and coming off of several weeks of sleep deprivation due to the Explorer build as well. You definitely deserve the lead butt award again this year!

Cool. We'll figure it all out later but I definitely want to get up on Imogene again and I'm pretty sure the Mazda is not gonna make it :p

I made it!! I know this isn't relevant to anyone because I'm new but it's a big deal lol.

So if anyone get here early and wants to meet up give me a ring. I'm the only FSJ here that I can see. I feel so alone and afraid.

Names Taylor and number is 417-629-8968 call or text!

And if anyone knows vapor lock preventative I'm all ears.

I've got an external one. When someone arrives that has an electric pump installed I'd love to see it so I know a working way to install it.
