Where to post this stuff?

Post by REDONE »

Hey Stuka, where should I put fabrication stuff? Custom FSJ tech, or is that just for build threads? I kinda got the feeling that when you made that section you were hoping to resurrect Rockjeep44 type builds, and I've tried to make the focus of my build thread on the stuff you don't just buy and bolt on. A lot of the stuff I want to post is in the realm of "Custom" and with the intent of FSJ context, but may not be FSJ specific enough to go anywhere but Gen Disc. I'm lucky over on the motherboard that Tad gave me my own forum, but I know we don't have the traffic here for a dedicated fabrication area. I'm actually trying to finish a huge write up on welding and I'm also doing a review of an affordable welding machine I'd like to share here. Which wall do you want me to fling my poo on? :D

3/4 resto, rotting faster than I've been fixing it.

Build threads dont have be complete ground up builds, or wild offroad builds.

If you think there will be enough stuff to populate the fab area, then I am fine with that. I just dont want to add a section and end up with 1-2 post in it. Only area like that now is the land use area, and thats to be expected.

No, no, I don't expect a fab area here for some time. When the big board crashes it's final crash that may be an option, but right now I'm pretty sure a fab area would only get 1-2 new threads a year, probably started by me with no real meaningful discussion following them. When I get the welding write up done (with lots of hyperlinked pics and a few videos) you could toss that right into the tech archives if you wanted. Right now, thinking about it in today's frame of mind I think it's pretty obvious. A welder is an expensive tool, and if I was reviewing a tire balancer I'd put it in Gen disc so there's really no difference, haha! It took 20 hrs but I figured it out!
