Yeah, that's a "million dollar" question! Most of the pads are warped to some degree. I've only seen 4 dash pads that weren't warped. I have one waiting to go onto the 3:1 Super Build.
The red pad on this one has been recovered, and it was done pretty well. I don't know what is under the recover, but I think mild heat and pressure should put it back to it's original position. I'm slowly tinkering with the misc. problems here and there as time and health allow.
Part of the dash pad seems to have been reattached with an adhesive strip, but the upholstery shop also used the factory retaining clips on the front part of the pad.
The dash pads also attach to the dash at the firewall/dash area where the dash bolts to the windshield channel. So the back 1/2 of the pad sits under the windshield gasket.
