A friend of mine and his son have a small shop at his house that they work on their street rods. I was at a junk shop near my house and found an old rusted out piece of a Chevy truck grill. I knew this would be perfect for a sign for his shop. Here is what I did. The wood is heart pine I tore out of a house I helped a friend with.

What I did was used a wood chisel to mark the letters and painted in-between the lines.

Built some brackets to hold the grill in place and cut up a bunch of old wrenches and put them in the sign.

Would like to do one jeep related for my barn, but I don't see that happening any time soon. To many irons in fire.

I like it, and that is a good use for one of GM's uglier grills. Looks better now then when it was new.

Love the sign. The grill reminds me of Sid the Sloth from Ice Age.
