There is a HUGE cost difference between going with an i6 and a modern V8. So I think first you need to decide what you are willing to spend.Booth755 wrote:Yes In looking at the 6.1 or an v8
I also have a straight 6 so I could go with a stroker

The engine in the link is a chrysler 360. Jeeps came with AMC 360's. Entirely different engines. There are 4L60E's that will take 800hp all day. So really I say go with a 4sp. The engine linked has lots of peak power, but it chances are the power is up high, not in low to mid range. Also, as a side note, you will blow the rear ring and pinion all over the HWY with that engine. So if you go with something that has that kind of power, be sure to factor in axle upgrades to hold that power.Booth755 wrote:But will it have the power ? I'm going after that motor for the power cause all it is is a 360 bored over I mean the jeeps use to come with a 401 and the motor is dressed and the reason I was gonna go with the th400 is because it can withstand the power but I'm still trying to decide the transmission I'm by set on the th400 so any suggestions prefer automatic and any ideas how to do a floor shifter for an automatic
