AEV showed everybody a concept last year at SEMA, and they have now officially announced production of the 2013 Brute. While way outside the price range of most people, it is an actual pickup truck with a separate bed. I would prefer an extended cab with a longer bed, but it is cool non the less. I would be curious to see what one looks like with stock sized tires (The one in the photos is on 37's).
I actually wish they had a 2dr version. Not that I could afford one. But the double cab is just too long for use in the areas that I go to. But a 2dr with that size bed would be awesome.

The rear axle on JK's is quite strong actually. It's a D44, but uses an 8.9" ring gear and a near D60 sized pinion, and the Rubicons have 32 spline shafts. So not as good as a full floater, but much stronger than older D44's. the front D44 sucks though unfortunately.
Yes, it is kewl but the price! YIKES! MSRP: $77,650 (as tested)
No way!
If I spend $77K for a truck, it's gonna be a 1 ton Diesel dually.
I know most folks do not need a monster like that, but Wow...$77K!
I would want to think a Chevy Colorado or a Dodge Dakota could equal this AEV for a lot less cash.

Yup, if treated rough or outfitted with oversize tires, the JK can develop a smile...
I have not heard of anybody getting the smile. But the front C's can bend (C-Gussets are a must), and the tubes have broken on the front. The front D30 and D44's use the same tubes.
But the rear has fairly large tubes. Almost all the failures I have seen on rear JK D44's is a Ring and Pinion that goes boom.
I Like it! I do want a new Jeep pick-up at some point, but not for that kind of money. I think the 4-door is a bit much too. An extended cab would be nice for storeage though.
i like the mopar kit that removes the rear doors and uses a bulkhead instead. not a truck pickup, but what are you really going to haul in a jk-truck that you cant use a bulkhead
?
