vacuum line question/re tranny

Post by swmpdonkey »

I have a 79, cherokee with 360/th400/qtrac.h The control box under the hood on the drivers fender, that i believe controls the tranny and cruise control has two rubber hoses coming out of it and wires. One hose goes into the black vacuum ball on the firewall. Where does the other go to. Have looked at a few diagrams but I dont see this in any of them.

Thanks

Do you have a second vacuum reservoir that looks like a coffee can mounted next to the Cruise control servo? I think one of the hoses goes to it, but then where does it go from there? IDK!

I think 79 is same as 77 for cruise control. If so, the other line goes to the diaphram that connects to the carb linkage.

The newer cruise control that came out in the 80s used the black canistor (coffee can).

hmmmm... wonder how hard it is going to be to find that diaphram I think the whole mounting bracket believe is still there.

Brake switch is where the other goes. I think there may be a diagram on http://oljeep.com
